Mrs. Dr. Nastaran Rahimi is the previous advisor to Deputy Minister's Office for Planning and Economic Affairs of the Ministry of Energy of the Islamic Republic of Iran. She is also deputy for general director of environment, safety, health and social affairs Bureau in Planning and Economic Affairs of the Ministry of Energy, Islamic Republic of Iran. Ms. Rahimi has received her PhD. in the field of environment and her post-doc in the climate change effects on the electricity loss (Freie University-Berlin, Germany).
Her published works include five books in the fields of energy, climate change, environment, women and energy as well as Kiyoto Protocol and its mechanisms and more than 100(one hundred) articles and papers presented at different Iranian and foreign conferences and seminars. Since 2000, she has been representing the Ministry of Energy in different national and international meetings on climate change, Kyoto Protocol and environment related conventions. Ms. Rahimi is currently member to the WEC study committee, the National Climate Change Working Group, CDM Designated National Authority, IPCC National Committee, Waste Management National Working Group, Minamata Convention National Group on Mercury, Climate Change Technology National Committee, HSE Steering Committee and she is Secretary of the CDM Committee in the Ministry of Energy. She has played effective role in scientific and research activities done between Iranian electrical, energy and water and wastewater companies on one side and foreign companies and organizations on the other side for dealing with environmental problems within the said sectors. She has also been actively involved in preparing state short term national development plans and programs, the Ministry of Energy strategic planning, risk management plans in water and electricity sectors, green management affairs, water and power sectors' environment technologies national document as well as cultural, educational and research cooperation with UNESCO Tehran Cluster Office. Ms. Rahimi is also in charge of preparing the Iranian energy sector greenhouse gas emissions inventory for the Iranian National Report to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) Secretariat, low carbon economy report and INDC water and power sectors' studies of the Ministry of Energy.
